FREDERICK PA – A day-long educational event to teach professionals who work with senior citizens about strategies to deal with domestic violence will be held April 3 (2009; Friday) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Frederick Mennonite Community, 2849 Big Rd. The seminar, titled “Domestic Violence: Older Women As Victims Too,” is being co-sponsored by the TriCounty Community Network.
Jan Biresh of Laurel House has been named as facilitator for the program. Janine Kelly, of the Women’s Center of Montgomery County, will be its guest speaker. Five units of professional continuing education (CEUs) will be awarded to nurses, case managers, social workers and others in professional capacities who complete the program.
The Pottstown PA-based TriCounty Community Network provides comprehensive health information and referral services to communities in Montgomery, Chester and Berks (PA) counties.
