SANATOGA PA – President-Elect Barack Obama and his daughters shopped Sunday (Dec. 14, 2008) on Chicago’s South Side for a Christmas tree. The rest of us, or so it just may have seemed, spent the day shopping near Sanatoga’s south side – across U.S. Route 422 in Limerick Township – at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets.
The place was packed with cars and bustling with people, most searching for products to fulfill holiday gift-giving needs. Only one weekend remains before the first day of Hanukkah (Dec. 22, 2008), and Christmas (Dec. 25, 2008). Many shoppers prefer to be finished with their gift-hunting chores before then, and their sense of urgency likely gave retailers a boost.
- Buyers seemed to be looking for gifts recipients could enjoy at home, and that wouldn’t break their budgets. See a ‘Post’ video of 1:35; press the play button.
